John Ward recently worked with author Tim Callahan to illustrate Tim's newest children's book, "Timmy & Susie Catching Crawdads."
In this cute children's book, Timmy is spending the summer with his Mamaw and Papaw. When his friend Susie arrives, he takes her to the creek to catch crawdads with humorous results.
John's illustrations brings Tim's story to life.
Originally posted by my daughter :: In 2001, my Dad contributed to the design of the Kentucky state quarter. That same year, he painted a beautiful chair for an auction at the Arts Center. The chair he painted tied into the state quarter design featuring My Old Kentucky Home, horse scenes, and the Kentucky state quarter mounted in the top slat. I remember my Dad taking the chair with us to paint while on vacation and painting it during the evenings. I've searched for this chair several times through the years without success. The chair went up for sell at a local estate auction last week. After 18 years, I'm excited to say the chair found its way back home and is now in my possession! A treasured family heirloom!

Kentucky artist John Ward recently attended Kentucky author Eddie Price's book signing of One Drop -- A Slave! at Winchester's library. John's artwork is featured on the book cover and John was on hand to sign prints of Paddle Wheeler if customers desired to purchase a companion item to Mr. Price's book. Prints are available of Paddle Wheeler.
I am always so appreciative and humbled by people enjoying the art I create. I had the pleasure of meeting Steve and Janet Ramlal, the new owners of the originals Surprise Party and Evening Chase. Thank you for your support and business! Prints are available of both images. Please contact us if interested in purchasing an original.
Sponsored by Western Kentucky University, the Mountain Workshops held their 43rd annual workshop in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky during the week of Oct. 22, 2018. In addition to the students participating in the program, WKU faculty members were joined by volunteer shooting, editing, and writing coaches who traveled from across the country to participate in the program.
John Ward was selected to be one of the stories for the workshop and worked with photojournalist Alexander Volberding. It was an exciting and interesting process to have John's life documented in photos including capturing John's life at work and home.

Kentucky artist John Ward partnered with Eddie Price, Kentucky author, to illustrate the cover of Mr. Price's new release titled One Drop -- A Slave!, released in February 2018. The book is a sequel to Mr. Price's popular book, Widder's Landing. Over Labor Day weekend, Eddie and John attended the Pioneer Festival in Winchester, Kentucky where those purchasing Mr. Price's book had the rare opportunity to have both the author (Eddie) and illustrator (John) sign their copies.
